Description

Jones 1 is a type IIIb faint planetary nebula 2300 light years away found in the constellation of Pegasus.  The nebula is named after Rebecca Jones of Harvard University who discovered it in 1941.

This 15th magnitude blue-green expanding shell of OIII ionized gas is created  from expelled outer layers of the hot magnitude 16th central blue star seen in the center.

Shout out to StarMan609 for his excellent capture of this object and putting it on my radar for acquisition!
